Keeping Track

Competing for Ithaca College, Red Hook High School graduate Andrew Longcore placed third in both the 1- and 3-meter diving events in this past weekend's 126-117 loss to Union.

SUNY Cobleskill named Franklin D. Roosevelt HS grad Sharee Daniels its Fighting Tiger Athlete of the Week. Now a sophomore at Cobleskill, Daniels (seen here during her playing days with Hyde Park's Presidents) averaged 15.5 points, 4.5 assists and 4.0 rebounds in a pair of victories last week, extending her team's winning streak to 15 games. In those two games, Daniels went 13-for-26 from the field and 5-for-6 from the foul line. Her team entered the week with a 15-4 overall record.

Oneonta State senior Megan Bucci, an Our Lady of Lourdes HS alum, was recently named the Red Dragons' Female Athlete of the Week. Among her accomplishments, Bucci scored 12 points her women's basketball team's 69-55 win at Brockport on Jan. 30th. The next night, her sister, sophomore Rebecca Bucci, scored 10 points as the Red Dragons won at Geneseo, 71-51.

Now in his junior season with the Geneseo Knights, former John Jay HS standout Ryan Joyce placed second in the triple jump (13.42 meters) at this past Saturday's Syracuse Invitational.
